Getting Started
How do I get started with Perpetual?

Join as a Perpetual member and we’ll take it from there.

You’ll receive an at-home collection kit with simple step-by-step instructions. You snip a small sample of your dog’s fur, place it in the vial, and send it back in the prepaid mailer.

When the lab finishes the analysis, your dog’s health scores and personalized care plan will appear in your Health Portal inside the Perpetual app. From there, we create their first custom supplement blend based on their actual lab results—not guesswork.

How often will my dog be tested?

Your annual membership includes three tests per year:

  • 1 baseline test
  • 2 retests, every 120 days

Each new test updates your dog’s health scores, recalibrates their custom supplement blend, and adjusts their care plan so it stays in sync with how their body is changing.

What kind of results will I get, and how will they help my dog?

You’re not getting a static lab report. You’re getting an ongoing health map for your dog.

Your membership gives you:

  • 90+ biomarker readings covering minerals, toxic elements, and key nutrient ratios
  • 36+ health score assessments for heart, liver, kidney, immune system, gut, thyroid, and more
  • 3 custom supplement blends per year for targeted, year-round support
  • A clear explanation of what the results mean in plain language
  • A personalized care plan that covers diet, lifestyle, movement, and daily routines
  • Tracking over time so you can see what’s improving, what needs support, and how changes affect their health

By catching imbalances early and acting on them, you can avoid many recurring issues, cut down on surprise vet bills, and add more healthy years to your dog’s life.

How does Perpetual compare to my annual vet visit?

A yearly vet checkup is important. It focuses on visible symptoms, a physical exam, and a few standard tests. Most of the time, deeper lab work only happens after a problem shows up.

Perpetual is built to see ahead of that moment. We run a broad panel of biomarkers designed to show how your dog’s body is really doing over time—from organ stress and nutrient balance to toxin exposure, thyroid function, gut health, and more. These results live in your Perpetual dashboard, where you can follow trends instead of snapshots.

Think of it this way:

  • Annual vet visit: “How is my dog today?”
  • Perpetual: “How has my dog been doing for the last several months, and what direction are we heading?”

We focus on early detection, prevention, and long-term health, then help you and your vet use that information in a smarter way.

Can Perpetual help if my dog already has a health issue?

Yes. Perpetual is powerful for dogs who already have known problems and for dogs who “seem fine” but have something brewing under the surface.

By looking at mineral patterns, toxin load, and nutrient balance, we can uncover stress in the body that often sits behind:

  • Skin issues
  • Gut problems
  • Low energy
  • Joint discomfort
  • Recurrent “mystery” symptoms

Your dog’s plan is then built to support their biology, not just mask the outcome. The goal is to help their body recover better and stay more stable over time.

How old does my dog have to be to use Perpetual?

Perpetual is for every life stage—puppy, adult, and senior.

Starting early lets you build a strong base and watch how their body develops. Starting later lets you catch issues that often go unseen in older dogs. In both cases, the goal is the same: more healthy, active years with you.

How is Perpetual different from my regular vet?

We’re not here to replace your vet. We’re here to change when and how you get information.

Traditional care is built around problems once they appear. Your dog limps, vomits, scratches non-stop—you book a visit.

Perpetual is built to:

  • Find risk before it turns into disease
  • Track how their body responds to care over time
  • Give you simple, specific actions you can take at home

Your vet is still essential for emergencies, medication, surgery, and many diagnoses. Perpetual gives you the data and daily structure that help you avoid many of those crises in the first place.

Why hasn’t this existed before?

Pet care has followed the same path as most human care: step in once something is wrong. Prevention has rarely been the main business model.

Only in the last few years have human health platforms started to focus on full-body lab testing, deep data, and prevention as a service. Perpetual brings that same mindset to dogs—long-term tracking, advanced diagnostics, and care plans built on real data, not guesswork.

We believe dogs deserve the same kind of proactive health system humans are just beginning to build for themselves.

How old does my dog have to be to use Perpetual?

Perpetual is for dogs of all ages—from puppy to senior. The earlier you start proactive, personalized care, the greater your dog’s chances of living a longer, healthier life.

How is Perpetual different from my regular vet?

Traditional veterinary care is often reactive—your dog shows symptoms, you make an appointment, and treatment begins after a problem has already developed. Perpetual flips that approach on its head.We focus on predicting, preventing, and reversing disease before it becomes serious. Through advanced lab testing, continuous monitoring, and personalized care plans, we give you actionable insights year-round—not just in the exam room. You’ll have a complete picture of your dog’s health and a plan that adapts with them, so you can keep them healthier for longer.

Why hasn’t this existed before?

Veterinary care has traditionally followed the same model as Western human healthcare—profit from reactive care rather than prevention. If your dog stays healthy, the system makes less money. Only recently have human health companies like Function Health paved the way for proactive diagnostics. Perpetual is the first to bring this model to pets.

Membership
What does a Perpetual membership include?

Your membership is more than a test kit. It’s a full health system for your dog.

You get:

  • 3 FTMA tests per year (fur-based mineral and toxin analysis)
  • Longevity routines tailored to your dog
  • Full health audits to understand where they stand today
  • Real-time and historical health tracking
  • 36+ curated health scores
  • Personalized care plans from top vets
  • 3 precision supplement blends per year (a full 12-month supply)
  • Foundational healing and longevity protocols
  • Early detection tools
  • Centralized medical records
  • A dedicated care team - 24/7 support

Everything is built to work together toward one goal: more healthy years.

Which tests are included in my annual membership?

Your membership includes three FTMA panels each year, covering 90+ biomarkers and repeated every 120 days so we can see trends, not isolated readings.

FTMA (Fur Tissue Mineral Analysis) uses a small sample of fur to look at:

  • Mineral levels
  • Toxic heavy metals
  • Key metabolic patterns

Because fur reflects several months of biology, it shows how your dog’s body has been running over time, not just on the day of the test.

Beyond FTMA, you can order additional tests through the Perpetual Marketplace, such as:

  • Food intolerance testing
  • Mycotoxin screenings
  • DNA testing
  • Stool analysis and GI mapping

Many of these tests are hard to access on your own and often cost far more outside of a membership model.

What Health Protocols does Perpetual offer?

When diagnostics show an issue—or a risk building beneath the surface—we build targeted protocols that match your dog’s biology. These plans can focus on:

  • Kidney, Liver, Thyroid & Metabolic Health:
Support for detox, energy production, and organ function to keep core systems stable.
  • Gut Health & Nutrition:
Nutrition plans, digestive support, and microbiome strategies to improve absorption, calm inflammation, and support immunity.
  • Toxins & Environmental Health:
Gentle detox programs, antioxidant support, and home-environment tweaks to reduce ongoing toxic load.
  • Physical & Cognitive Performance:
Supplementation, movement plans, and brain support to keep your dog strong, mobile, and sharp as they age.
  • Skin & Coat:
Nutrient-dense formulas and inflammation control to ease itching, improve skin barrier health, and restore shine.
  • Arthritis & Joint Issues:
Joint support, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and movement strategies to maintain comfort and range of motion.

Every protocol is personalized. We work with your dog’s biology instead of fighting against it.

What is foundational healing and longevity care and how is it different from mainstream veterinary care?

Foundational healing looks at your dog as one connected system. Instead of chasing each symptom in isolation, we ask: What in the body is out of balance, and why?

This often leads to:

  • Adjusting nutrition
  • Supporting detox pathways
  • Improving digestion
  • Fine-tuning minerals and vitamins
  • Making simple lifestyle changes that reduce stress on the body

Longevity care builds on that. The focus is not only “fix this issue” but “keep this dog healthier for more years.” That means:

  • Running deeper tests
  • Catching trends early
  • Slowing down the processes that lead to decline

Mainstream vet care is essential, especially for urgent care and many treatments. But it tends to enter the story late. Perpetual steps in earlier and stays with you year-round.

If my dog looks healthy, how will this extra data be useful?

Many dogs look fine on the outside while silent problems build inside.

Advanced testing can reveal:

  • Nutrient gaps
  • Early organ stress
  • Hormonal shifts
  • Hidden toxin exposure

Most of these are easier and cheaper to fix before they become visible disease. That’s the real value: using data to stay ahead of problems instead of reacting once you’re already in crisis mode.

Lab Testing
How does the testing process work?

It’s simple and stress-free.

Once you join, we send an at-home collection kit right to your door. You collect a small fur sample from your dog (no needles, no stress) and send it back in the prepaid envelope. Our lab runs a deep analysis of minerals, toxins, and nutrient balance—the building blocks of your dog’s health.

Results are then reviewed by our integrative veterinary team, who help create a custom health strategy for your dog. This process repeats 3 times per year, so we can track changes over time and adjust care as needed.

Why does Perpetual use fur instead of blood for testing?

Fur-Tissue Mineral Analysis (FTMA) is one of the most advanced, science-backed ways to assess your dog’s long-term health. Unlike blood, which only shows a moment-in-time snapshot, fur reflects months of metabolic activity—giving us a deeper, more accurate view of your dog’s body systems and nutrient balance.

Here’s why fur testing is superior to blood:

  • Non-invasive & stress-free – no needles, no vet visit, just a quick snip of fur collected at home.
  • More stable data – blood can fluctuate daily based on stress, meals, or time of day; fur stores long-term trends.
  • Detects hidden imbalances early – fur reveals chronic deficiencies, toxic exposures, and mineral ratios before symptoms appear.
  • Science-backed & precise – FTMA has been validated across human and veterinary medicine for decades as a powerful diagnostic tool.
Why can’t I order these tests through a regular veterinarian?

Most traditional veterinarians aren’t trained in the type of advanced, integrative diagnostics Perpetual uses. Veterinary school primarily focuses on conventional, Western-style care—testing and treatments designed to address clear symptoms or urgent conditions. Because many vets haven’t been educated in how to interpret tests like Fur Tissue Mineral Analysis (FTMA) or other functional diagnostics, they typically don’t offer them.

Even if your vet could order similar tests, they often come at a much higher cost and without the same depth of analysis or personalized care plan you receive through Perpetual. We’ve negotiated specialty rates with our laboratory partners, allowing us to deliver over 90 biomarkers and ongoing retesting for a fraction of the cost you’d find elsewhere.

Perpetual bridges the gap by combining these advanced diagnostics with expert interpretation, holistic protocols, and ongoing tracking—something that’s rare in traditional veterinary settings.

Every protocol is personalized. We work with your dog’s biology instead of fighting against it.

Can I get more frequent tests whenever I want?

Absolutely. Your Perpetual membership is designed to give you fast, seamless access to advanced diagnostics whenever you need them—not just on a set schedule. While we automatically retest every 120 days to track trends over time, you can request additional testing at any point.

This includes custom biomarker panels, gut microbiome analysis, DNA testing, mycotoxin screening, food intolerance testing, and more. Many of these tests are difficult to access through traditional veterinary channels, but with Perpetual, you can order them in minutes through your dashboard.

Our goal is to empower you to take a proactive approach to your dog’s health, whether you want to dig deeper into a specific concern or simply check in more often.

How long do results take?

Most Fur Tissue Mineral Analysis (FTMA) results are ready within 7 working days from the time your dog’s sample reaches our lab. As soon as results are processed, we’ll notify you in your Perpetual dashboard so you can dive right in.

From there, you’ll be able to:

  • Explore emerging health trends—see how your dog’s key biomarkers are shifting over time.
  • View 36+ health score assessments—covering areas like gut health, thyroid balance, toxin burden, joint health, and more.
  • Chat one-on-one with your care team—walk through the findings, get your questions answered, and discuss insights.
  • Review your dog’s personalized health plan—including nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations rooted in prevention and longevity.

Other tests—such as gut microbiome mapping, mycotoxin screening, or food intolerance panels—may have slightly different turnaround times, typically ranging from a few days to two weeks.

Supplement Formulation
How are Perpetual’s supplements made for my dog?

Each formula is custom-made using your dog’s diagnostic results, ensuring every ingredient targets their unique needs for optimal health and longevity.

How long does it take to receive my dog’s supplements?

Once we receive your dog’s test results, it takes about 10-15 days to craft their custom blend. Every formula undergoes rigorous safety testing to ensure it meets the highest quality and safety standards before it ships to you.

How often will my dog’s formula change?

You’ll receive three different custom formulations each year — one after your initial test, one after your first retest at 120 days, and one after your final test of the year — so your dog’s supplement evolves with their health.

How long does each supplement formula last?

Each custom supplement formula is designed to last 120 days. As one formula ends, your next one is already being prepared—so your dog has continuous coverage throughout the entire year. With three evolving blends annually, their supplements adapt as their health and needs change, ensuring consistent support without gaps.

Will my dog need to take multiple supplements at a time from Perpetual?

No — each formula is an all-in-one custom blend created specifically for your dog’s unique health needs. Instead of juggling multiple pills or powders, you’ll get a single, easy-to-use powder supplement that combines everything they need into one scoop. This ensures complete coverage without confusion, making it simple to give your dog the exact nutrients they need—no guesswork, no clutter, no stress.

How do I give my dog the supplement?

Our all-in-one formulas come in a convenient powdered form. Simply scoop the right amount onto your dog’s food at mealtime — no pills, no fuss, just mix and serve.
